❥ History:

Sasuke's Retsuden Chapter
• Sasuke arrives alone at Togakushi Ninja Village as a very young child, befriends Fujimaru
• He learns how to be a ninja under Magoroku's teaching alongside Fujimaru
• Fujimaru tries to save Sasuke's life instead of continuing a mission despite Sasuke urging him to
• Fujimaru says that they'll die together, Magoroku saves them and lectures them about being ninja
• The two return home to share a meal with their friend Suzu and other children from the Togakushi Ninja Village
• They learn of the deaths of some of the ninja on a mission, and Fujimaru says he hates the life of a ninja
• Fujimaru and Sasuke go to help a village under attack by the Oda Clan
• They end up in trouble and badly injured in a fight against Mitsuhide
• Magoroku saves them again
• Magoroku and Fujimaru are shaken
• Fujimaru leaves to train with Magoroku. Sasuke is left to heal and is later sent on an easy mission

Sengoku Basara 3 Utage Sasuke's Route

• Shingen falls ill during a battle against Ieyasu at Komakinagakute
• Yukimura now leads the Takeda Army but is unsure what to do
• Sasuke goes to Setouchi to gather information and crosses paths with Motonari, Yoshitsugu, and Kotaro (the latter becomes allied with Ieyasu)
• He returns to find Ueda captured by the Date because Yukimura left to gather his own info and meet Sasuke half way
• Sasuke slaps Yukimura and lectures him about how a ninja will sacrifice a thousand lives for one purpose while Yukimura risks a thousand lives for the sake of one
• Leaving Yukimura behind in his indecisive state, Sasuke goes to retake Ueda Castle
• He fights Kojuro and tells a "fairy tale" about a bloodstained monkey, which is actually his past
• Sasuke continues on to fight Masamune and talks about how he's had to see the people he kills as monkeys to protect himself
• There is no clear victor (though likely Sasuke would have lost), but Yukimura intervenes
• Yukimura tells Sasuke that his spears exists to protect the lives of thousands and Sasuke's heart too
• The Date leave, and Yukimura decides to make an alliance with Mitsunari
• Sasuke tells Yukimura that the life he should risk to obtain an alliance is that of his ninja instead of his own
• He enters Osaka Castle with a shadow clone to gather information and to be noticed by the Dark King Mitsunari
• The shadow clone is destroyed but the Takeda received a request for an alliance after, implying they were impressed by the infiltration

❥ Personality: Sasuke may seem like a lazy, easy-going ninja who enjoys poking fun at the people around him. He says he won't do more than he's paid for and often asks for a raise. Sasuke knows he's skilled and isn't above letting others know it. Sometimes, it seems like he's too laid back as he naps in a tree or makes light of Yukimura and Shingen's enthusiastic sparring. He's Sasuke Sarutobi. His name will become synonymous with ninja; he's an ideal ninja who has it all together, right?

Those who see behind the mask find someone who cares a lot (more than he thinks he should). Sasuke would never betray his master, Yukimura, even if someone like Matsunaga offered him a large purse fitting his skills. Yukimura is easily the most important person to him. Sasuke is his shadow, his kagemusha. Yukimura is Sasuke's light. A ninja lives for the sake of another; it's a belief he's held since his traumatizing childhood when everyone he knew were slaughtered like monkeys.

Sasuke is actually one of the hardest workers in the army and is breaking under the weight of his responsibilities. With Shingen's illness and Yukimura's lack of leadership experience, he carries Yukimura's emotional well being (manifesting in nightmares and indecision for his master) while still trying to lead the Takeda as a lieutenant-general. Sasuke's a ninja, not a human, and yet he's being treated even more as one. He's gained so many responsibilities that his life isn't so easy to throw away. He's at war with himself, what he thinks he should be, what he is, and what he's lived. The massacre of his ninja village (and likely the family he had before), colors his self-worth, and he tries to hide his low self-worth behind an ego and teasing. Sasuke may relive past horrors while listening to others, like he did during a briefing by Shingen. If pushed too hard, he may lash out and let his emotions get the better of him or let slip information he'd normally keep hidden. This happened with the Date invaded Ueda by Yukimura's negligence. Sasuke slapped and yelled at Yukimura and then rushed into battle against the Date, even letting it slip he views his enemies as monkeys to be slaughtered and hinted at his own dark and bloody past.

Sasuke really needs some hugs.

Sasuke blinks as he wakes on the stone slab. The stone is a stark contrast from that airy and calm feeling he had moments before. He felt, safe, comforted... and wanted curl up against whoever made him feel warm and safe.... Those feelings jolt Sasuke into alertness. No. That can't be right. His life is anything but that. His crow familiar caws in alarm. Sasuke nearly draws a weapon until he hears the hushed voice next to him, and he has to gawk at what he sees.

What the hell? What kind of armor is that?

The armored person begins to speak, telling him that he's in no danger and that he's been chosen to save them. Sasuke holds up a hand, hoping that will stop the armored one. "Excuse me, Master Samurai, but I have an important job to do back home. So, if you could just send me back."

Sasuke doesn't like the reply he gets. As the metal person leaves, Sasuke looks down at the clear, flat object left with him. He cautiously touches it with a finger. The thing lights up, and small images appear on its surface. Sasuke stares at it and keeps his crow from poking it with his beak.

"What the hell is this?" Sasuke mutters as the object dims and returns back to its transparent state. He's never seen anything like this in his life, and he has the unsettling feeling that this is only a small taste of what's to come when he leaves this room.

Power clarification and limits

Shadow/darkness powers: Sasuke can emerge and disappear into shadows, using it as a form of transportation. He also uses it to help others escape (kind of like a smoke bomb) or draw targets towards a point, usually to then attack with shadow clones. Movement is limited to areas inside the walls.

Shapeshifting: He can take on the appearance of other people but not their voice. Opt-in post for this.

Life steal: This will have no effect in game towards others because he won't be killing or really fighting anyone. It will affect him, however, because he's used to having this to help sustain his workaholic and poor self care lifestyle, and he'll be more dependent on things like eating and sleeping well (like a normal person). Having this power still present is completely a way to encourage/force Sasuke into contact with others.

Flying: He hangs onto his crow's talons, and they fly or glide. Flight is limited to areas inside the walls.
